PRO: Cory Procter was signed by the Cowboys from the Detroit Lions practice squad Nov. 30, 2005 because of his ability to play both center and guard as well as provide youth and depth along the offensive line. With the preseason foot injury to Kyle Kosier in 2008, Procter stepped into the starting role at left guard. He returned to a reserve role in Week 3, but after Kosier re-injured his ankle, Procter then started nine of the remaining 13 games.

2008:

  • Played in all 16 games for the second consecutive season and earned 11 starts in place of Kosier (foot).
  • Had his first start as a guard in the season-opening win at Cleveland (9/7) and did not allow a sack as the Cowboys offense rolled up 487 total yards.
  • Started once again in place of Kosier against Philadelphia (9/15) as the line did not allow a sack for the second consecutive week.
  • Returned to a reserve role at Green Bay (9/21), but was forced back into the starting lineup the next six games until Kosier returned to the lineup at Washington (11/16).
  • Stepped back into the left guard spot in the third quarter against San Francisco (11/23) as Kosier re-injured his foot.
  • Saw time as a reserve against Seattle (11/27) and at Pittsburgh (12/7), yielding the starting spot to Montrae Holland.
  • Re-assumed the left guard spot as Holland injured his knee and ankle in the second quarter against the Steelers.
  • Started the final two games of the season at left guard.

2007:

  • Saw action in all 16 games, mainly on special teams, with two starts in place of Andre Gurode (knee).
  • Came in at center on the final drive for Gurode against St. Louis (9/30).
  • Played at right guard for Leonard Davis on the final drive against the N.Y. Jets (11/22).
  • Played most of the second half at center in place of Gurode (knee) against Philadelphia (12/16).
  • Made his first career NFL start at Carolina (12/22) in place of Gurode (knee), and helped the line block for a 100-yard rusher (Marion Barber) for the third time of the year, and did not allow a sack of Tony Romo in 42 passing attempts.
  • Made his second consecutive start at center in place of Gurode (knee) as the offense struggled - gaining only 147 total yards.
  • Saw action on special teams in his postseason debut against the N.Y. Giants (1/13/08).

2006:

  • Made the active roster but was inactive for all 17 games.

2005 (Detroit/Dallas):

  • Was inactive for his first three games with the Cowboys.
  • Activated for the final two games of the season but did not play.
  • Began the season on the Detroit Lions practice squad.

COLLEGE:

  • Had 47 starts at Montana, including 42 consecutive.
  • Earned first-team All-Big Sky Conference, Division I-AA All-America honors and the winner of Montana's Paul Weskamp Award, given annually to the team's outstanding offensive lineman as a senior.
  • Started every game at right tackle and was named honorable mention All-Big Sky for the second consecutive season as a junior.
  • As a sophomore, started every game at left guard earning honorable mention All-Big Sky honors.
  • A starter as a true freshman and part of Montana's Division I-AA National Championship team in 2001.

PERSONAL:

  • Cory Ryan Procter was named all-Northwest, all-state, all-area, and all-league offensive lineman as a senior at Gig Harbor, Wash., High School.
  • Was a team captain for the football and wresting squads and was voted team MVP in both sports after his junior and senior seasons.
